Public Agencies Call for Awareness and Action to Stop Illegal Dumping


​EL PASO – More than 140,000 pounds of trash were illegally dumped in waterways and open spaces across El Paso within the last year. Illegal dumping can lead to flooding, hazardous safety conditions and big fines. Public agencies are joining forces to raise awareness of this huge problem and to engage citizens to be watchful, take a stand and report it.

El Paso Water, the City of El Paso Environmental Services Department, El Paso Police, the El Paso County Water Improvement District #1 (EPCWID #1) and the El Paso County Attorney’s office will jointly discuss this problem and urge the public to call 3-1-1 if they witness illegal dumping.
