Public Service Board Welcomes New Member

Charlie Intebi brings 28 years of financial, business experience

EL PASO
- The Public Service Board started its monthly meeting Wednesday morning by welcoming its newest member, Charlie Intebi. He joins the PSB after El Paso City Council voted to appoint him last month. Intebi is cofounder and Vice President of Nova Safety Products, a small business in El Paso that provides safety, industrial and scientific supplies and equipment to companies in the region. He is also a partner in IN Properties and Max Investments.

“As a long-time ratepayer and business owner, I believe that I can play a constructive role on this board,” said Intebi.

Intebi joins the Board with 28 years of financial and business management experience and with many years of serving his community. He has served leadership roles in local organizations, including Keep El Paso Beautiful and the Kern Place Neighborhood Association. “Serving my community has always been of utmost importance to me, said Intebi.”

Intebi, who now takes on the General Business Management role, succeeds Henry Gallardo who served two four-year terms on the Board. “We thank Henry for his 8 years of outstanding service, including several as chair,” said EPWater President and CEO John Balliew.

“We also welcome the experience Mr. Intebi has to offer to this diverse board,” said Balliew. “His knowledge of business management practices will benefit the decisions made on operational and business matters as well as investments for the future of the utility.”

El Paso Water is governed by the Public Service Board, which consists of the Mayor of the City of El Paso and six board members, who are appointed by the City Council. Board members serve four-year terms.
