Frontera Wastewater Replacement Line Complete

Crews will now begin commissioning of wastewater lines and plant for several weeks

EL PASO – Contractors have made the final connection of the replacement Frontera wastewater line, allowing crews to move forward with the commissioning phase of the line and the John T. Hickerson Water Reclamation Facility. The Hickerson facility has been operating at partial capacity since August, so the plant will be monitored as low volumes of wastewater are sent in the coming weeks.

WHAT:  Media availability to view open trench where final pipeline connection is complete.

WHEN:  Wednesday, December 29 at 1:30 p.m.

WHO:  Gilbert Trejo, Interim Chief Operations Officer- Production and Treatment, will be available for media interviews on-site (English and Spanish)

WHERE:  4000 Hidden Way (Park along street; do not park at St. Jude Catholic Church.)   

Media is advised to wear a closed-toe shoe (preferably hiking boots or steel toe boots). EPWater will provide safety vests and hard hats.
