About the Water Conservation Program
This year marks 25 years of conservation in El Paso. EPWU's conservation program was one of the first in the nation and has successfully decreased water use by more than 30 percent, which helps preserve groundwater in the Hueco and Mesilla aquifers for future generations.

Through a combination of education, enforcement and incentives, El Paso has reduced water consumption.

El Paso Water Utilities, overseen by the Public Service Board since 1952, operates and maintains four utilities – water, wastewater, reclaimed water and stormwater – for the El Paso region. With an innovative and diverse water portfolio and the world's largest inland desalination plant, EPWU implements the latest technologies to provide El Paso with high-quality, sustainable water supplies.
