Three sites to provide sandbags for emergency flood control
EL PASO – Residential customers can pick up sandbags for flood control any day of the week beginning Monday, July 8. The summer site locations and hours will be in effect through the end of September. The West and East/Mission Valley sites will re-open, joining the centrally located Stormwater Operations Center, which is open all year.
EPWater encourages residential customers who live in areas prone to flooding to have sandbags on hand before a heavy rain event. Residential customers will need to show a Texas ID or an El Paso Water bill to get sandbags. The limit is 10 bags per visit.
Each sandbag weighs over 30 pounds. Persons who cannot lift heavy items should be accompanied by someone who can assist with loading and unloading of the bags.
