Laundry-to-Landscape

An L2L system diverts graywater from a washing machine to irrigate landscaping and garden areas, rather than sending it to the sewer. It uses simple, cost-effective methods to reuse water directly from the laundry.

Yes, many L2L systems are designed for DIY installation with basic tools. It’s important to follow local codes and guidelines to ensure safe and effective operation.

Use biodegradable, low-sodium, and phosphorus-free detergents to prevent soil and plant damage. Regularly check the irrigation area for signs of plant stress or soil imbalance.

Yes, most L2L systems include a diverter valve that allows you to switch between sending graywater to the landscape or the sewer as needed.

Typically, graywater should not be stored due to potential bacterial growth and odor issues. It’s best to use it immediately after it’s produced.

Pool Filter

Switching from a sand or DE (diatomaceous earth) pool filter to a cartridge filter comes with several benefits, especially when it comes to water conservation. Cartridge filters are more efficient at trapping debris, significantly reducing the need for backwashing compared to sand or DE filters. This can save between 2,000 and 8,000 gallons of water per year, depending on your pool’s size and usage.

Beyond water savings, cartridge filters also last longer, require less maintenance, and need fewer replacements over time. This means lower costs and a more eco-friendly pool maintenance routine. Make the switch and enjoy a cleaner pool while conserving water and saving money!

This rebate is for up to $250.

Pool Cover

Installing a pool cover is one of the most effective ways to minimize water evaporation, a leading cause of water loss in pools. By simply covering your pool when it’s not in use, you can prevent the sun and wind from accelerating evaporation—potentially saving tens of thousands of gallons of water each year.

Beyond water conservation, a pool cover helps retain heat, reducing the need for additional heating and lowering energy costs. It also keeps debris out, making maintenance easier while decreasing the need for chemicals.

In short, a pool cover is a smart, eco-friendly investment that saves water, cuts energy expenses, and reduces upkeep—all while keeping your pool cleaner and more efficient.

This rebate is for 50% of the cost, up to $100.

Rainwater Harvesting

Rainwater harvesting involves collecting and storing rainwater from rooftops and other surfaces to use for irrigation, household needs, and other purposes.

The captured rainwater is directed through a filtration system to remove debris and then stored in tanks.

Regular maintenance includes cleaning gutters and downspouts, checking filters for debris, inspecting storage tanks for leaks or contaminants, and ensuring pumps and pipes are functioning properly. This helps keep the system efficient and the water clean.

If the rainwater system is connected to an existing irrigation system (public water system) there must be a backflow installed by a master or journeyman plumber that holds a water supply protection specialist endorsement issued by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners.
