Overnight work continues on N. Mesa St.
EL PASO – Beginning Sunday, September 17, El Paso Water will begin the second phase of a water line replacement project on the southbound lanes of North Mesa Street near Belvidere Street.
The work is part of the utility’s proactive plan to replace aging infrastructure and improve reliability of the water distribution system for customers. Construction work on the southbound lanes is expected to last a week.
To enable daytime traffic flows and to minimize impacts to businesses, construction will be limited to the nighttime hours of 9:00 pm through 6:00 am the following day. During the closure, southbound traffic will be diverted onto the northbound lanes of N. Mesa at Belvidere for about 250 feet. There will be two lanes open for northbound traffic on N. Mesa.
Additionally, crews are still working at N. Mesa and Pitt St. Please follow posted traffic detours and use extra caution when driving through the area as traffic patterns may change.
